Gourmet Pork chops (6 servings)
12 pork chops
Salt and pepper to taste
30 ml garlic oil
30 ml olive oil
1 onion chopped
1 clove garlic minced
450 gm mushrooms, sliced
250 ml hot chicken stock
125 ml dry red wine
1 bay leaf
4 tbsp soured cream (optional)
Method
Pre-heat oven to 180 degree Celsius.
Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper. In a heavy frying
pan brown chops in garlic oil over high
heat. Remove and keep warm.
Add olive oil to pan. Saute onion, garlic, mushrooms in
olive oil until onion is golden.
Pour in chicken stock and wine and bay leaf. Bring the
mixture to a boil and cook for about 3 minutes.
Arrange 6 pork chops in casserole. Top it with half the
sauce. Put on another layer of pork chops on top and pour over the remaining
mixture. Cover casserole tightly and bake for 1 and half hours.
If you like sour cream you can add to the sauce mixture when
it is served to your guests.
